RACIDA, in collaboration with the Mandera County Department of Veterinary Services and through integrated Recovery Response supported by the U.S State Department of Foreign Assistance, continues to carry out a 13-day supportive treatment and vaccination campaign across Elwak, Mandera West, Banisa, and Mandera North.
The intervention is targeting:
• 113,220 sheep and goats for deworming
• 1,350+ sick animals for treatment
• 44,000 goats for CCPP vaccination
This integrated response is critical to protecting livestock assets and sustaining pastoral livelihoods across Mandera County.
As noted by Mr. Mohamed Adan Issack, County Chief Officer for Livestock Development and Animal Health, the intervention is a strategic effort to enhance resilience and safeguard the economic stability of pastoral households.
