In Mandera County, 500 farmers are taking the lead in transforming their farmland. Through the Building Opportunities for Resilience in the Horn of Africa (BORESHA-NABAD) programme, RACIDA has facilitated linkages with local Agrovet suppliers to expand access to certified drought-tolerant seeds, while collaborating with the County Department of Agriculture to provide training through extension officers.

Among them is Abshira Ali Abdullahi, who has reclaimed her land from invasive Prosopis juliflora and is preparing to plant using improved drought-tolerant inputs. Like many others, she is opening up more land for cultivation to increase yields, strengthen market supply, and enhance food security in Mandera County.
