RACIDA, with support from UNICEF Kenya, has launched the distribution of 5,620 school bags and education kits to newly enrolled Out-of-School Children (OOSC) across 34 schools in Mandera East and Mandera North Sub-Counties.
The learners were identified and enrolled through sustained community mobilization and back-to-school campaigns aimed at increasing access to education for vulnerable children. The initiative seeks to remove key barriers to learning by ensuring children have the essential materials they need to begin and continue their education with confidence.
The distribution is being carried out in close collaboration with the Ministry of Education and school management teams, reflecting a coordinated commitment to improving school enrolment, attendance, participation, and retention.
By equipping children with school bags and learning materials, RACIDA and UNICEF Kenya are helping create an enabling learning environment where every child has the opportunity to access quality, inclusive education and build a brighter future.
